Questions
Things people ask before their first class.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is never a charge for any of our classes, courses, or retreats.
Do I need any experience?
Not at all. Most people who come are trying meditation for the first time.
Will I have to participate?
Only as much as you want to. You’re welcome to ask questions, or simply listen and experience the meditation.
Do I need to register?
Our weekly classes are drop-in. Some special events ask you to register in advance.
Do I have to sit on the floor?
No. Most people sit comfortably in a chair, though you’re welcome to sit on the floor if you prefer.
What should I wear?
Anything comfortable and modest.
What should I bring?
Just yourself.
Is this a religion?
The Brahma Kumaris is a worldwide spiritual organization. People from many different religious backgrounds, as well as those with no religious background at all, come to learn meditation with us.
Is there anything to buy?
No. Nothing here costs anything. There are no memberships, subscriptions, or advanced programs. Occasionally we recommend a book that supports the classes. It usually costs around $10 to $15, and there is never any obligation to buy one.
