About the Tampa Center
On the shore of Lake Ellen since 1982.
The Tampa Brahma Kumaris Meditation Center is part of a worldwide family of thousands of meditation centers in more than a hundred countries. One of them happens to be here in Tampa.
We have been in Tampa since 1982, and for most of those years we kept moving. Land O’ Lakes to begin with, then a long stretch on Busch Boulevard, then South Tampa. Through all of it, the purpose stayed the same. We help people learn to work with their own mind through Rajyoga meditation.
In 2018 we came to the shore of Lake Ellen, and for the first time we stopped moving. This is home now. It is quiet here. The trees, the water, and the stillness have become part of the practice itself. People often tell us they feel themselves slow down before the class has even started.
Over the years, people have come for every reason you can imagine. Some stay for a single class. Some keep coming back for years. One young woman put it in a sentence we have never forgotten.
“This is the one place where there is no performance.”
We hope you’ll find the same feeling here.

About the Brahma Kumaris
The Tampa BK Meditation Center is part of the Brahma Kumaris, a worldwide community that began in India in 1937. Today, people learn and practice meditation at centers in more than 110 countries. Around one million students are part of this spiritual family, and it has become one of the world's largest spiritual organizations led by women. Wherever you go, the faces and cultures may be different, but the intention is much the same: to create a little more peace in the world by helping people discover it within themselves.
