Passing of Teacher Bebe Butler

On Tuesday, November 8th, our sister and friend Bebe Butler passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Bebe was 42 years old and passed away from ovarian cancer.

Bebe came to the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation path in Boston whilst in college in 1996. She moved to Tampa. Bebededicated her life to sharing the study and practice of Raja Yoga Meditation in such a unique way. Through workshops, lectures and creative sessions Bebe gave everyone she encountered the gift of seeing their true self.Bebe‘s sweetness, listening ear and understanding nature combined with her comedic style left everyone’s heart filled with love, peace and joy. Bebe was instrumental in developing the Tuesday series programs for at the meditation center.

In her regular work, Bebe touched the lives of children through theatre in libraries via the Tampa Creative Arts Department. She shared her time by empowering young women through Girls Stories.

Bebe had a keen eye for aesthetic and art and beautifully transformed the center into sacred spaces for many ceremonial events. Her artwork is displayed not only in the center but on her website and the homes of all her friends.

At a personal level Bebe believed that she had a moral and spiritual responsibility of being a source of inspiration and a gentle guide for reconnecting people to their deepest truth and their inner beauty. Her love for God and spirituality was visible through her eyes and felt through the expression of her pure heart through her speech and art.

Yet one service she has done that she will continue to do is guide all into deep calm and love through the hundreds of guided meditations she created and are used in meditation classes and workshops worldwide.
